We are based between the villages of Rattery and South Brent in Devon, just a 2 minute drive from the A38 for easy drop offs whilst en route to Plymouth or Exeter.

For security reasons our full location will be provided to you upon booking.

Can I arrange out of hours collection or drop-off?

We are able to accommodate drop offs and collections outside of our opening times, however, this needs to be agreed prior to your dogs stay and will result in an extra charge of £5.

All dogs staying overnight will need to be dropped off by 1pm at the latest in order to allow them time to settle before the night. We will not accept any boarding dogs being dropped off after this time.

What do I need to bring with me for my dogs stay?

FOR DAY CARE

We ask that all personal belongings are left at home whilst your dog attends day care.

We will supply your dog with fresh bedding, a lead/harness, rain coat and any treats and have plenty of toy choices available.

We ask that all dogs are fed before and after their day care stay and any medication is given prior to their arrival.

FOR OVERNIGHT STAYS

As above we ask that all personal belongings are left at home during your dogs stay.

If you feel that your dog will have trouble settling into our environment then you may provide a blanket that smells of home for them to snuggle up to.

We do ask you to provide us with enough feed for the length of your dogs stay and any medication your dog may need. Please refer to our boarding policies + procedures for details on how to supply us with both of these.

What vaccinations does my dog require?

In order to stay at The Canine Cabin Devon your dog will require an up to date vaccination (within n the last 12 months) against the following diseases:

- Infectious Bronchitis/Para Influenza (also known as Kennel Cough)

- Canine Parvovirus

- Canine Distemper

- Canine Adenovirus/Infectious Canine Hepatitis

- Leptospirosis

We do not accept any titre tests or homeopathic vaccinations.

All vaccinations must be given at least 72 hours prior to a dog's stay.

We require evidence of these vaccinations provided to us at least 24 hours before your dogs stay.

Failure to provide us with this will result in your dogs booking being declined.

What age dogs do you accept?

We accept a variety of dogs of all ages provided they are in good health, are fully house trained and we can cater to their individual needs with a few exceptions:

- We do not accept any dogs under the age of 12 months as we don't feel our environment and routine is suitable for growing puppies during this time

- We do not accept any entire male dogs regardless of their age

If your dog is senior we may decide that our facility is unsuitable

What type and breed of dogs will you look after?

We can cater for all breeds of dog, from Chihuahua to Great Dane or Poodle to Bull Terrier. No dog is too big or too small!

My dog is in season, will you accept her?

We do not accept female dogs during their season. We suggest a 4 week absence from day care/boarding during this time as behaviour and sensitivity towards other dogs can vary during this time.

Can I visit to look around the premises?

Visitors are only allowed to the premises by prior appointment.

All drop offs and collections must take place at our front gate.

Please remember that the premises is also our home.

Take a look at our Facebook and Instagram pages to see lots of photos and videos of our facilities and to get an idea of what your dog will get up to during their stay.

How do I book for the first time?

Please head on over to our booking enquiry page here where you will be asked to complete an initial form with the basic details of your dog and the dates you wish to book.

From here we can let you know if we have those dates available and proceed with registration and booking in your dogs first day of day care or their meet and greet day prior to being accepted for boarding.

Why does my dog need to have a meet and great assessment day?

Prior to your dogs first overnight stay we require a mandatory meet and greet day to allow us to assess whether our environment is suitable for your dog and/or if your dog is suitable for our environment. These sessions are charged at the full day care rate of £20 per day.

This allows us to prioritise your dogs welfare and state of mind by building up a behaviour profile and ensures that they will enjoy their stay with us whilst you are away on your holidays.

The results of this session will determine whether we can proceed with booking in your dogs daycare/boarding stay, if your dog will need further settling in days or if your dog is unsuitable for boarding.

Should we deem your dog unsuitable for daycare/boarding we will fully refund any deposits you have made to secure the dates.

Can I cancel my booking?

FOR DAYCARE BOOKINGS

We require at least 24 hours notice before your booked stay for any cancellations of daycare, failure to do so will result in payment of 100% of your booking fee.

FOR BOARDING BOOKINGS

All boarding stays require a non-transferable 25% deposit to secure the dates and payment in full will be required on collection of your dog following their stay.

We require at least 5 days notice before your booked boarding stay for any cancellations, failure to do so will result in us keeping 100% of your deposit.

Should you provide more than 5 days notice of cancellation then we will be happy to refund your deposit in full.

Please refer to our Service Agreement here for more information on our deposits and booking fees.
